MARGAO: Town and Country Planning Minister Vijai Sardessai on Saturday inspected a municipal land opposite Osia Commercial Complex. Vijai has said the municipality wants to get the parking area land ready before monsoons.
The land has been acquired by MMC to develop parking place. The land is in possession of the municipality and has been shown as a parking spot in the ODP. The MMC in the past have also expressed their willingness to use this place for organisation of feasts and are working in that direction.
TCP Minister along with PWD, MMC, WRD and other officials visited the place and had an inspection of the MMC lands. “This place is on entrance of Fatorda and we are targeting to complete filling of this parking land belonging to MMC before the monsoons,” Vijai said.
Referring to concerns that the adjoining areas would be flooded if municipal land is filled, Vijai said, “There are concerns that there will be water logging if filling of the lands is done and we plan to devise mechanism to prevent the same.”
The land belonging to MMC was lying unused for several years and the MMC now plans to use it as a parking land and has also expressed plans to have feast fair on this lands.
