Laxmikant Parsekar on Tuesday confirmed that the medical condition of Deputy
Speaker Vishnu Wagh, currently admitted in GMC, is stable.
“He (Wagh) is stable. I just
spoke to the doctors. They have said that he is stable. He is currently under
observation for 24 hours,” Parsekar told media persons during a media briefing.
During the media briefing, Chief Minister received a call from doctor attending
Wagh, updating him on the deputy speaker’s health.

Parsekar said there are
rumours that Wagh has been kept on ventilator and his condition is critical,
which are not true. “Doctors said that in the next 24 hours if the conditions
don’t improve, then he would be kept under observation for another 24 hours,”
he stated, adding that he had been in the hospital on Monday night.
Wagh, representing St Andre
constituency, was admitted to GMC Monday night after complaining of uneasiness
during an Independence Day event. He has been admitted in the Intensive Care
Unit.
Wagh suffers from high blood
pressure and sugar levels, due to which he felt uneasy. Initially, the GMC
authorities had suspected a heart attack, which was later ruled out.
Wagh had suffered
a heart attack on May 15 this year following which an angioplasty was
conducted. He had recovered and had successfully chaired a few hours
of the Goa Legislative Assembly’s monsoon session.
