PERNEM: The heavy rainfall lashing the State past few days led to waterlogging on the National Highway 66 at Porascadem due to no proper drain system, on Saturday.
With the ongoing work of the highway expansion, one side is layered with the concrete but the inner side of road is low lying and since there is no way out for water to flow, it gets flooded on the road, further leading to traffic jam.

Also this particular stretch of the road is totally in bad condition with huge potholes, it is adding to the inconvenience of the commuters especially the motorists. Rain water almost raised to two feet past two days.
“This stretch of road is making the life of commuters especially the motorists miserable. The highway contractor has completely failed to undertake quality work of the highway expansion. If this continues then there are chances that almost 700 metre of road will get damaged,” Subodh Mahale, a local said. It may be recalled that on July 12, at the same spot, almost 100 metre of road had caved in into River Tiracol.
