The investigation into the murder of 25-year-old Pune realtor Ketan Agarwal took a significant turn after police questioned Sahil Goyal, the brother of accused Siya Goyal, for nearly 10 hours on Friday.
According to officials, Sahil was summoned by investigators in the morning and allowed to leave only late in the evening after an extensive interrogation. During the questioning, police sought details about Siya’s relationship with co-accused Chetan Chaudhary and cross-verified several aspects of the case.
In a key statement to investigators, Sahil said the family would have cancelled Siya’s marriage to Ketan Agarwal if she had expressed any reservations about the alliance.
“If Siya had said she didn’t like Ketan, we would have stopped the wedding,” Sahil reportedly told the police.
Investigators are examining the statement as they continue to probe the circumstances surrounding Agarwal’s murder and the alleged roles of Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary. Police are expected to further analyse evidence and witness statements as the investigation progresses.
