Fomento has asked the Margao Municipal Council not to arrive at conclusions about the targets and pace of work at Sonsodo without a proper verification and discussions with company officials.
In fact, the company has suggested to the Civic body to call a meting of both side to address all matters of concern, saying this would go a long way in actualizing the goal of commissioning the plant in the best possible manner.
A day after the MMC Chief Officer Y B Tawde raised queries on the delay in meeting the deadlines, Fomento reminded the Civic body that work of construction of the surface drain has already commenced on May 15 as per schedule.

Referring to the query raised by the Chief Officer vis-à-vis the trammels, the company said it has placed order for one pre-sorting trammel with 30 Tones per hour capacity.
“This is the design capacity to meet the requirements at the site. We fail to understand the basis on which you have stated that four trammels will be installed”, the company said.
On the draft concession agreement, Fomento maintained that the draft concession agreement was given to the company on April 20.
“There are several aspects in your draft agreement which need to be studied and amendments suggested. This cannot be done in haste. That is the reason why we were asking for the draft agreement earlier”, the Company said, adding that concession agreement is ready and will be submitted to the MMC at the earliest.
