PANJIM: The people of the Goa should vote for Shripad Naik in order to get a ministerial berth, a public meeting organised by the BJP has resolved.
The demand coming from several BJP workers including that of Dr Rufino Monteiro, of the Goa Football Development Council, party vice president Anil Hoble, who is facing the heat for his allegedly illegal restaurant at Ribandar as well as others.
The main demand however came from San André MLA Vishnu Wagh who has returned from a hiatus with an injured foot to give a clarion call that the people vote for BJP in order that Shripad Naik becomes a minister in the government.
Wagh who has earlier made known his disappointment with the elevation of Modi as the party’s prime ministerial candidate demanded that people vote for him.
“I request you to vote for the BJP in order that in Modi’s cabinet that Shripad becomes a minister,” Wagh thundered.
Earlier, especially after Modi’s Vijay Sankalp Rally, Wagh has on repeated occasions called Modi as communal.
North Goa candidate, Shripad Naik spoke of his achievements through the MPLAD scheme especially to schools and to communities.
The meeting also witnessed speeches by Menino D’Cruz who denied that the BJP has any communal tint.
