In the recently conducted 8th Popular Tiatr Competition organised by the Tiatr Academy Goa, the tiatr ‘Amdar’, written and directed by Alexin de Morjim, bagged the 1st place for performance while the tiatrs, ‘Dhirvem’, written by Edmund Vaz and directed by Shirish Naik, and Alfredo Fernandes’s ‘Problem’ bagged the second and third places respectively.
The awards were presented at the hands of Fr Vital F X Miranda, parish priest of Candelaria Church, Baina, Vasco da Gama. He is also the manager of Candelaria High School and Dean of Vasco Deanery. The competition was judged by a panel of three eminent tiatr personalities, namely Premanand Sangodkar, Joe Rose and Pradeep Vernekar.
