PANJIM: Adarsh Yuvak Sangh won a five-goal thriller against Verem United SCC 3-2 in the Goa Football Association Third Division League, at Poriat ground, on Monday.
Verem led 1-0 at half time as Prakash Rathod put his side ahead in the game in the ninth minute.
In the second half, Adarsh were all over the rival half and scored three quick goals through Harshad Gaude, Ajay V and Walikar to take the tally to 3-1.
Verem then pulled a goal back in the 75th minute through Digambar Salgaonkar.
At Cavelossim ground, Dramapur Sports Club scored a 2-0 win over Ambelim Sports Club.
Akshay Konkne and Aston Fernandes scored a goal each for the winning team scoring in the 7th and 25th minutes respectively.
In another match at Mandopa ground, Sandroy Vaz scored a brace to help Margao Sports Club score a fluent 3-0 win over Rumdamol Sporting Club.
All the three goals were scored in the second session.
Sandroy Vaz netted in the 70th and 85th minutes while Sheriden Noronha scored the team’s third goal in the 90+2 minutes.
At Chapora ground, Sai Avtar and Peddem Bomm played a thrilling 3-3 draw. Umesh Mainkar scored a treble for the Sai Avtar while Aloysius, Sadguru Talkat and Aliton D’Souza netted a goal each for Peddem.
Meanwhile, at Siolim ground, St Sebastian Sports Club beat Xetrapal SC 3-1.
St Sebastian scored through Lakshak Gawas, Sanjay Mayekar and Shane Rebello while Ganshyam G pulled a goal back for Xetrapal.
At Bicholim ground, Chandrakant Naik scored the lone goal of the game as Kelbai SC scored a 1-0 win over BAFF. Chandrakant netted in the 70th minute.
At Dando ground, Benaulim, United Club of Benaulim registered a 3-2 win over St Anthony’s Club Colva.
Clifford Fernandes own goal handed Benaulim the lead in the 22nd minute.
Baptist Fernandes drew level for Colva at the half hour mark. Cedron Rodrigues scored just before the breather to make it 2-1.
In the second half, Malik Torgal levelled terms for St Anthony’s Colva but Benaulim strived to find the match-winner and successfully managed to net the winner in the 74th minute through Switzer Fernandes.
At Assonora ground, Augustias SC beat Sirsaim SWC 2-1. Rupesh Patel scored the match-winner in the second half injury time after Augustias’ Chanel Fernandes had cancelled Sirsaim’s second half lead scored through Sunil Desai.
