Churchill Brothers humble Guardian Angel SC

NAVELIM: Churchill Brothers FC humbled Guardian Angel SC 5-0 in the Goa Football Association Goa Professional League, at Rosary ground, Navelim, on Monday.
Willis Plaza scored a brace while Clencio Pinto, Wendell Coelho and Vinil Poojary were the other goal scorers for the Red Machines.
Guardian Angel SC played well in the opening 10 minutes wherein they had their chances. Sunny was the closest to scoring for the Curchorem side but his effort was saved by the keeper, Suresh M. 
In the 15th minute, Churchill Brothers FC took the lead when Clencio Pinto played Plaza at goal and the foreign striker showed his physical strength and ability as he ran down in the box, before scoring past Guardian Angel keeper Ozen Silva.
They soon doubled the account in the 22nd minute when Clencio passed to Plaza who ran down the right flank before taking on Guardian Angel’s Benzu Clemente and shot at goal which brushed Guardian Angel SC goalkeeper Ozen Silva’s hand and entered the goal to make it 2-0.
At the other end, Guardian Angel SC had a great chance to pull a goal back but Beneston header was pushed out by the Churchill Brothers keeper off an Aslon’s corner kick.
At the half hour mark, U-20 player Wendell Coelho scored a 25 yard strike when his cross cum shot caught keeper Ozen Silva off guard as the winners led 3-0 at the break.
In the second half, Churchill Brothers FC continued their dominance and consolidated their lead through Clencio Pinto, who was provided a pass by Plaza. 
The local hero made no mistake to score his goal after providing two assists to his team earlier in the game.
Churchill Brothers’ Meldon Silva had a great start for his club as the defender gave no room for Guardian Angel players in the game.
Plaza was once again the key man in providing another assist to Vinil and the latter took the tally to 5-0.
Churchill Brother FC would have scored more goals if not for Ozen’s heroics late in the game.  Plaza set up Shubert who could have scored from the first touch but his shot was beautifully saved by Ozen.
