All-Brothers emerged champions defeating Portais Club 7-6 via the tie-breaker in the inter-ward football tournament organised by Jolly Boys in the finals at Ribandar ground, recently. There was no score at half time.
Changing over, All-Brothers took the lead through Daniel Naronha. Portais Club equalised in the dying minutes.
In the ensuing tie-breaker, Rocky Fernandes, Klytuss Po, Ashley Fernandes Sagar Naik, Daniel Noronha, Roville Coelho, and Raja netted for All-Brothers, while Neveille, Steven Swadhes, Baner, Latesh Blaze were on target for Portais.
All-Brothers were richer by Rs 5,000 and a trophy while Portais had to be content with Rs 3,000.
Following individual prizes were awarded: First goal of the final – Daniel Noronha (All-Brothers). Man-of-the match – Daniel Noronha (All-Brothers). Best player of the final – Rocky Fernandes (All-Brothers). Best goalkeeper of final – Rupesh (Portais). Best player of the tournament – Ashley Fernandes (All-Brothers).
Vivina Nasnodkar, CCP Corporator was the chief guest and gave away the prizes. Fr Alcandra Rodrigues was the guest of honour, while Bernardo Lobo was the special invitee.
