MARGAO: A fine header from Alvito Colaco helped Navelim Sporting Club to overcome Guardian Angel Sports Club, Curchorem 1-0 and advance into the quarter-finals of 38th Cana Benaulim Cup inter-village football tournament organized by Cana Benaulim Sporting Association, at St John the Baptist ground, Dando-Benaulim, on Tuesday.
The teams started the game cautiously and slowly Navelim took control over the match. The all-important goal came in the 45th minute when striker Alvito headed home off a well-executed floater by Avelon Gomes.
