RAIA: Ambelim SC beat Sporting Club of Davorlim 3-1 and qualified for the quarter-finals of 1st VJT Cup football at Chinchinim ground, Monday.
The teams had several chances to score in the first half which ended goalless.

Semson Fernandes of Ambelim tested the Davorlim goalkeeper with some well-placed shots, but he was not successful. Delton Colaco of Davorlim also showed his skills and creativity, but he could not break the Ambelim defence.
The second half was equally competitive as both teams searched for the goal which proved elusive.
The match went into the penalty shoot-out. Rayan Pinto, Velroy Fernandes and Lester Fernandes scored for Ambelim. Only Delton Colaco managed to score for Davorlim.
Delton Colaco was named man-of-the match for his outstanding performance. He received a special prize from Joe Dias of VJT Arts.
