PANJIM: Holy Cross Arambol defeated Quitla Sports Club, 5-3 via tie breaker to advance to the next round of the Aldona Cup at Quitula ground, Aldona on Sunday. Full time score was nil-nil.
Arambol had good scoring chances in the first and second half but their strikers Amit Fernandes, Vithal Kinleakar and Sunny D’Souza missed sitters. Quitula striker Aldo Fernandes missed a glorious scoring chance in the 2nd half.
In the ensuing tie-breaker Amit Fernandes, Antonio Rodrigues, Sunny Dsouza,Vithal Kinleakar and Shashank Ashweakar scored for Arambol. For Quitula, Paxiao Gomes, Esley Fernandes and Aldo Fernandes were on target.
