VALPOI: All the seven accused arrested in connection with the death of a youth from Massordem-Valpoi were remanded to 10 days police custody by JMFC Valpoi on Sunday.
When contacted, Valpoi Police Inspector Sanjay Dalvi informed that three accused were arrested on Saturday morning, while the remaining four accused were arrested late Saturday night.
“All the seven accused were produced before JMFC Valpoi on Sunday, who remanded them to 10 days police custody and the situation in Valpoi is under control,” informed PI Dalvi.
It may be recalled that tension prevailed in Valpoi on Saturday morning, after the body of Pranay Paldoskar (21) from Massordem was found floating in Massordem river at Valpoi. A large number of residents from Massordem marched to Valpoi market and reportedly ransacked four shops and damaged two-wheelers belonging to the family of the youth’s female friend.
The villagers later marched to the police station demanding arrest of all the accused involved in the death of the youth. The father of the deceased claimed that seven persons from the Kurtarkar family murdered his son.
