MAPUSA: Assnora United moved into the semi-final of the St Anthony’s Cup 2024 with a solitary goal win over United Club Nerul at Siolim ground, on Friday.
Assonora United’s Vishnu Pawar long range powerful shot went into the top corner of the net which proved to be the winning goal, 1-0. Nerul United tried their best to find the equaliser but were unsuccessful.
The màn-óf-the-match was awarded to Vishnu Parwar by Richard Pereira.
Earlier, FC Tuem managed to register a solitary goal win over Nerul SC. The all-important goal came in the first session of play through 25-yard strike by Vismay Daware, 1-0.
FC Tuem were then reduced to 10-man after Ayush Manekar received a red card. The man-of-the-match was awarded to Nitesh Naik of FC Tuem by Anthony Coelho.
