MURIDA-FATORDA: Bengaluru Football Club downed Salgaocar FC 3-1 in the Hero U-13 India Youth League final round Group D match organised by AIFF, at Don Bosco ground, Murida-Fatorda, on Monday.
Salgaocar’s upcoming striker Rui Carlo P Noronha should have netted in the third minute but his attempt was blocked by Bengaluru’s three-men defence-line comprising of Joshua Wilson, Arjun Dintakurti and Rohit Negi in the third minute.
Six minutes later, Bengaluru FC opened the score-line through defender Chandan Biju with a snap shot. Bengaluru further inflated the lead through Vinith Venkatesh in the 29th minute.
In the second half, defender Rohit Negi made it 3-0 in the 36th minute, while Rui Carlo De Piedade Noronha pulled a goal back for Salgaocar FC in the 39th minute.
Bengaluru FC should have netted two more goals through midfielder Aditya Kalasur in the 56th and 67th minutes but on both occasions Aditya shot wide.
