MARGAO/PANJIM: Bhatikar Model HS and Our Lady of Health HS, Cuncolim registered wins in under-14 President’s Cup inter-school Salcete Zone cricket tournament organized by Goa Cricket Association, at Arlem ground.
In the first match, Bhatikar HS hammered Posh English HS by 126 runs thanks to a brilliant 69 by Digesh Raikar while OL of Health HS got the better of Damodar HS of Margao by four wickets to register their second win in-a-row.
Brief scores — Bhatikar Model HS: 156/6 in 20 overs (Digesh Raikar 69, Heramb Parab 33 runs. Pradeep Chavan 1/24, Rajat Kalangutkar 2/14) beat Posh English School: 30/10 (Heramb Parab 2/6, Shivlay Nayak 1/3, Guruprasad Naik 2/4). Damodar HS: 92/10 (Saish Prabhu 21, Fardeen Shaikh 15, Nagappa Kannur 13 runs. Surajkumar 3/9, Viraj Gaonkar 3/12) lost to OL of Health HS: 93/6 (Surajkumar 49 not out, Rohan Bukkam 9 runs. Nagappa Kannur 3/20, Ajay Jamuni 2/7).
Meanwhile, Tudal School got the better of Balaram Residential School by 25 runs in a Canacona Zone match at Nirakar Maidan, Dapot, Mashem.
Tudal School were bundled out for a meager 89 in 18.2 overs. Bindesh Velip 11. Nagesh Gaokar 3/5, Sandesh Gaokar 3/5, Sachin Gaokar 2/12, Suraj Gaokar 1/8.
In reply, Balaram were shot out for a partly 64. Sandesh Gaokar 13. Chandrashekhar Gaokar 3/14, Anand, Jitesh and Vinay Gaokar took two wickets each.
