VASCO: Benfica Youth Club defeated new entrants Young Humorists Sports Club 5-0 in a Round 2 match of the GFA U-14 Second Division League at the Panchayat ground, Chicalim, on Wednesday.
Benfica Youth Club were leading 3-0 at half time.
Schneidel Pires, Yunus Shaikh, Anket Kaskar scored a goal each while star player Alfaz Sayed scored a brace for the winners.
Benfica outplayed their opponents in all departments of the game.
In another match at Velsao ground, Verna Cultural & Sports Association defeated Baina Sports Club 5-0. The winners had five different scorers. Rize Abranches gave them the lead in the 4th minute while Joyson Fernandes doubled the account in the 14th minute.
Ricky Da Costa further inflated the tally for Verna in the 25th minute as they led 3-0 at the breather.
In the second half, Elton Braganza scored the fourth in the 41st minute and Mark Braganza hit the final nail in the coffin in the 51st minute.
In another match at Agassaim ground, Fr Agnelo Youth Centre defeated Ponda Footballers 2-1.
There was no score at the break.
Crossing over, Ponda first took the lead in the 45th minute through Sahil Khan. However, Tanvesh Narvekar made it all square in the 58th minute for Fr Agnelo before Brendon Fernandes scored the winning goal for Pilar team in the 69th minute.
