SIRIDAO: Black Arrow Mira Mar edged past Vailankanni Loutolim 3-2 to move into the quarter-finals of 4th London Cup football tournament organised by Siridao Sports Club, at River Plate ground, on Saturday.
Loutolim kept the ball in their possession with shot passes from the start of the match and tried to get past the rival defence but they stood rock solid giving very little chance to the former team.
However a counter-attack from Black Arrow proved to be vital as on taking control of the ball Black Arrow went on to score the goal and take the lead in the 17th minute through Mayur.
Loutolim, trailing by a goal realised their mistake and went all out to score the qualiser.
Loutolim soon managed to find the equaliser in the 24th minute.
The teams went into the breather with a 1-1 draw.
Post resumption, Black Arrow created chances but their attempts were saved by Loutlim keeper.
Black Arrow later netted two more goals through Keston.
Loutolim once again took control of the ball and dominated the proceedings and magaed to find the net in the 50th minute through Allwin.
Black Arrow further went on to defend their citadel and were successful in keeping Loutolim strikers at bay.
At full-time the scoreboard read 3-2 in favour of Black Arrow to take them through in the quarters of the tournament.
