Calangute Association defeated PVC Parra 2-1 in the Vagator Soccer tournament organised by Vagator parish youth at Vagator parish ground, Ozrant, Vagator on Thursday.
In an exciting match, PVC Parra scored the first goal through Peter Menezes off a free kick in the 11th minute.
Peter Menezes could have doubled the lead for PVC Parra in the 20th minute but his shot went straight into the hands of Calangute goalkeeper Agnelo Fernandes.
On changing ends, Calangute went all out in search of the equaliser with tries from Santan and Stanley missing the mark narrowly.
However, Calangute scored the much needed goal through Stanley Carvalho off a Sherwin Lobo cross to restore parity in the 47th minute.
Calangute scored the match winner in the 52nd minute as PVC goalkeeper failed to judge the flight of the ball which entered the net off a Santan Rodrigues free-kick.
