PANJIM: Bardez Veterans kept their cool during the tie-breaker to knock out Bardez Veterans 5-3 and to move into the semi-finals of Santa Cruz Village Panchayat Veterans Cup football tournament played at Santa Cruz ground, on Friday.
Bardez Veterans opened their account in the 10th minute through Lino Pereira and seemed cruising nicely, only for Calangute to fight their way back with the equaliser in the 28th minute.
The second half saw missed chances at both ends as the match headed into the tie-breaker. Francis, Robert, Marcus and Caetan were successful with their attempts for Calangute, while only Ambrose and Benedict were on target for Bardez.
Calangute will now lock horns with Ilhas Veterans in the semi-final.
