MERCES: Calangute Veterans got the better of SAI Veterans 6-5 via the tie-breaker to move into the final of the Pogo Boys 50 plus Veterans Cup organised by Pogo Boys Merces, at Our Lady of Merces church ground, Merces, on Sunday.
Alexander Fernandes of SAI veterans opened the scoreline in the ninth minute but the joy was short-lived as Agustine Rodrigues equalised for Calangute in the 22th minute. Fifteen minutes later, Santan Furtado made it 2-1 for SAI veterans off a cross from Shankar.
