CALANGUTE: Candolim Sports Club routed Saligao United 6-1to move into the semi-finals of 1st Francisco and Matildinha Egipsy memorial inter-village football tournament organized by St Savio Sports Club, Calangute at Poriat ground, here, Wednesday. Candolim led 3-0 at the break.
Candolim started with a bang scoring in the very second minute through the boots of Sagar Bhatkande. Kenneth D’Souza doubled the score in the fifth minute while Sigmund Silveira scored the third goal in the 15th minute to take the game away from Saligao.
Changing over, Candolim scored three quick goals through Sagar Bhatkande, Joelif Simoes and Sigmund Silveira to complete the drubbing.
Lestor Dias pulled one back for Saligao.
