GOA VELHA: Chandor Club scored a narrow 1-0 win over Betalbatim Sporting Club to move into semi-finals in the 13th London Trophy 2019 organised by Goa Velha Sports Club and played at Goa Velha Sports Club ground.
Chandor Club could have surged ahead in the very first minute through Irfan Yadward who after a solo run was foiled by the diving Betalbatim keeper Milton D’Souza.
In the 11th minute, Chandor Club’s defender Akram Yadward timely foiled Dylan Rodrigues who was put through by Klusner Pereira of Betalbatim SC.
The only goal of the match came as a gift to Chandor after a terrible misunderstanding between the Betalbatim keeper and a defender which enabled Irfan Yadward to push the ball into the empty goal.
Richard D’Sa, Brivon Dias & Akram Yadward of Chandor Club and Dylan Rodrigues & Manushawn Fernandes of Betalbatim Sporting Club were cautioned by the match referee Rohidas Bhomkar.
