MARGAO: Sun Moon Veterans, Chandor defeated Curtorim Veterans 3-2 to cruise into the quarter-final of South Goa inter village veterans football tournament organized by Fatorda Veterans, near Nehru Stadium, Fatorda.
Both the teams tied 1-1 draw at half time.
Sun Moon Veterans struck a rhythm and called the shots. Their efforts bore fruits in the 10th minute when Nathan Fernandes bulge the net. However their joy was short lived when Honarato Menezes neutralized the lead with a cracker.
After the break, Sun Moon Veterans enjoy the lion share of exchanges. Francis Fernandes regained the lead soon after resumption. Menino Fernandes increase the tally midway in the second half. Honorato Menezes reduced the deficits at the fag end.
