CHICALIM: Chicalim Youth Club humbled Vaddem Sports Club 4-2 in the Mormugao Zone GFA 3rd Division League match at Chicalim panchayat ground. Chicalim were leading 3-0 at half-time.
In what was termed as the derby of the Mormugao Zone, Chicalim playing splendid football outplayed and outclassed Vaddem. Such was the dominance of Chicalim that they were 3-0 up in the first 30 minutes.
Playmaker Rahul Naik had yet again a memorable match as he put Chicalim ahead with a superlative diving header off a Sushant Borker pass. Rahul was once again in the picture as he made no mistake from the top of the box to score the second goal for Chicalim to complete his brace.
Goaded by the goals, Chicalim made inroads into the Vaddem area and Sadik netted the third as the Vaddem keeper made a hash of overhead collection.
In the second half, Vaddem put up a good display and reduced the margin through Kingsley Oliviera off a penalty kick. Vaddem goaded by the success further reduced the margin through Princley Oilivera but Chicalim’s Akash, who had just come in as a substitute scored the dream goal off a well measured cross from Sadik to seal the fate of Vaddem.
Bogmalo win
In another match, Seide Carvalho scored the all-important goal to give United YC Bogmalo victory against Cortalim Villagers.
