New structures on govt land to be demolished

PANJIM: The Government is set to implement the amended Goa Land (Prohibition on Construction) Act 1995, under which all the old encroachments on Comunidade and government land would be regularized while new constructions would be demolished, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar told the State Legislative Assembly on Friday. He also said as per the new amendment, action would be initiated against the competent officer responsible for not taking action against the illegalities, if he fails to act even after receiving the complaint.
