MAPUSA: Churchill Brothers will look to garner full points when they take on garner full against Shillong Lajong in the I-League match at Duler Stadium, here, at 3.45 p.m.

“Matches at Duler can be tricky. It’s a new surface and it will need time to be in good shape,” said Churchill technical director Subhash Bhowmick.

“My players have put up confident performances. I am proud of them but there is a need to be consistent. I feel the next three matches will be crucial. If we can get good results, our confidence will be at an all-time high,” added Bhowmick.

Churchill Bros will look to clinch the top spot in the league table. They are currently placed second with 25 points, one less than defending champions Dempo Sports Club who have played a match extra. A win will see Churchill stay at the top, regardless of what happens in the other matches this round.

Despite the 10 spots that separate Churchill and Shillong, Bhowmick is in no mood to underestimate his rivals. “They gave us a hard time at home and even at Duler they will come hard at us. They are a good side and, at this level, you dare not take anything for granted,” he emphasized.

Churchill are most likely to miss the services of Bikramjit Singh and Tomba Singh due to injuries.

Shillong are placed 11th on the table. They have just two wins under their belt but Desmond Bulpin’s side has shown signs of upsetting the calculations of major teams.
