RAIA: Cortalim Villagers beat Parish Youth, Nuvem 6-4 via the tie-breaker to move into the quarter-finals of the 45th Custodio Memorial inter-village football tournament,at Raia panchayat ground, on Sunday.
Gadrich D’Silva opened the account for Cortalim Villagers of a powerful grounder shot in the 17th minute. Meanwhile, Neves Noronha equalized the score for Parish Youth in the 29th minute of a ground shot. In the resultant tie-breaker Cortalim villagers netted through Joe Menezes, Rostan Vaz, Neceidade Mendes, Jodan Lucas and Desmond Carvalho while, Parish youth scored through Godfrey Mascarenhas, Inacio Colaco and Neves Noronha.
Cortalim Villagers will meet the winners of Sporting club of Davorlim and Calangute Association on July 10 in the quarter finals.
