SIRSAIM: Clube Sao Minguel De Taleigao beat Holy Cross Sports Club Arambol 3-0 in the Geno First Division League in association with Jhoncy Restaurant Benaulim, organized by Goa Football Association (GFA) in association with Jhoncy Restaurant Benaulim, played at Sirsaim ground, on Tuesday.
The Taleigao side dominated proceedings of the game from the word go and created a couple of attempts. Arambol team were made to drop low on numerous attempts as the Taleigao side came all out in attack.
After much probing, Taleigao side finally managed to earn a breakthrough in the 38th minute through Gautam Kankonkar who neatly finished his strike into the nets as the winners went into the break with a slender 1-0 lead.
Post resumption, Taleigao team began from where they had left and added another goal courtesy to Soumshekar Kumbar who made it 2-0.
Arambol team had a few chances to net in some goals but their poor finishing denied them.
CSM Taleigao added another goal through Raju Abhiger in the 85th minute.
