PANJIM: Curtorim Gymkhana blanked Sporting Club of Davorlim 5-2 via the tie-breaker to book final berth in 11th Rosary Cup 2014 all Goa inter-village football tournament organised by Rosary Youth Club, Zorivaddo in memory of Anthony Rodrigues, at Rosary ground Zoriwaddo-Davorlim, on Sunday.
The teams were locked 1-1 at stoppage time after failing to score in the first half.
In the first half, both the teams started on an attacking note. Sporting Club of Davorlim could have scored in 10th minute through Meclon Colaco but he shot wide.
In 15th minute, Venson Figueiredo’s shot was well saved by Curtorim Gymkhana goalkeeper.
In the second half, Venson scored for Sporting Club of Davorlim in the 46th minutes while Agnelo Martins free-kick spinning shot was well enough to score an equalising goal for Curtorim Gymkhana in the 49th minute.
In the resultant tie-breaker, Nelson Fernandes, Xavier Dias, Neville Fernandes and Savio Fernandes scored for Curtorim Gymkhana while Meclon Colaco was only on target for Sporting Club of Davorlim.
On December 25, Curtorim Gymkhana will face Margao Sport Club in the final.
