MARGAO: Curtorim Gymkhana shunted out Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda 6-4 via the tie-breaker to sail into the semi-finals of all-Goa Sao Jose de Areal Panchayat Cup inter-village football tournament organized by Sao Jose de Areal Sports Club, at Padribhat ground, Sao Jose de Areal, Thursday.
Curtorim led 1-0 at the break. They started in their customary attacking fashion and dominated the first half. Persistent forays fetched them dividends when striker Melliso Ferrao slotted past the rival goalkeeper with snap shot.
Don Bosco Oratory tried their best but failed to get past the rival rearguard.
After the break, Don Bosco Oratory put up a vast display and raided the rival goal time and again. Their hard work bore the fruit in the 40th minute when Remmy Araujao fired home from close range.
Later, the teams went all out in search of the match winner but failed to get the desired result.
In the ensuing penalty shoot out, Merwyn Fernandes, Sheldon Sardinha, Joyston Gunja, Tony Dias and Melissio Ferrao scored for Curtorim while Andrade, Danny Dias and Vincent Barbosa converted for Don Bosco Oratory.
