MARGAO: Damodar Higher Secondary School, Gudi – Paroda defeated VS Laad Higher Secondary School, Dharbandoda 3-0 to book their place in the semi-final of the Zone IV inter-higher secondary football tournament, organised by Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, at Tilamol Sports Complex ground, Quepem on Monday.
Both teams were tied 0-0 at the breather. Damodar HSS lads scored three goals in the second session. Joliton Clafasio Dias scored a brace while Allwyn Vaz scored one goal. In another match, Cuncolim United Higher Secondary School, Cuncolim defeated
Shiroda HSS 4-1 via tie-breaker. There were no scores in the regulation time. Both the teams had their chances but their strike force failed to convert their chances. Shiroda HSS had glourious chance to win the match but the rival keeper pulled out a brilliant save in the dying minutes of the match.
In the ensuing tie-breaker, Bharat Gaonkar, Sangam Gaonkar, Stevan Fernandes and Nikhil Pinto scored for Cuncolim HSS while only Samuel Johnathan managed to convert for the losers.
