MARGAO: Agnelo Colaco scored a fine hat-trick as Dicarpale Sports Clube humbled Immaculate Conception Sports Club (ICSC), Paroda 9-2 to move into the next round of the Catao Cup all-Goa 8-a-side inter-village football tournament organized by Union of Chinchinim Villagers, at Chinchinim ground, on Tuesday. The score read 3-2 at half time.
ICSC Paroda got off to a flying start as Djohn Fernandes put them ahead in the very third minute through a powerful grounder after receiving a pass from Benzin Clemente. But they could not carry forward the momentum and gave their rivals to operate freely.
Dicarpale plotted moves in the midfield and equalized after two minutes as Perryson Rebello gave finishing touches to an assist from Agnelo.
Subsequently, Dicarpale took the lead through Agnelo’s grounder but ICSC levelled terms in the 25th minute through Djohn.
Just before the lemon break, Agenlo secured his brace to make it 3-2.
Post resumption, Dicarpale dominated the proceedings and tormented the rival territory and Perryson registered his second goal of the evening. Melcom Colaco than joined the party with a quick double in the 40th and 43rd minutes. Agnelo Colaco added two more goals in the 49th and 52nd minutes.
