PANJIM: Don Bosco defeated Falcons 3-2 in a thrilling final of the 6th DBO Futsal Championship at Don Bosco Oratory indoor stadium on Sunday.
Dion (two goals) and Akiraj (one goal) were in form to give the young dynamic side an edge over the more experienced Falcons from Taleigao. Josley and Dean, the main anchors of Falcons played well but failed to score. Quan Gomes and Elvis Gomes managed to net a goal each to get a respectable fight.
In the first semi-final, Falcons defeated St Anthony’s, Goa Velha in penalty shootout (2-0) after a 2-2 lockout during the regular time.
In another semi-final, Don Bosco thrashed M7 3-1 to march into the final and claim their title thereon.
Kabir Pinto Mhakija, deputy Mayor of Panjim was the chief guest while Celso Fernandes, Oratory managing committee member was the guest of honour.
