Dramapur, Up Coming Boys, Baida and Fatima Sports Club, Biada moved into the second round of Catherine Viegas memorial inter-ward football tournament, organised by Union of Chinchinim Villagers, at Church grounds, Chinchinim on Tuesday.
Dramapur defeated Mingfol 3-2 via tiebreaker. Dramapur were trailing 0-1 at half time. Raju put Mingfol into the lead in the opening sessions.
In the second session, Dramapur put up a better display and took the fight to the rival camp and striker Raju Chimulkar struck the equaliser. With scores leveled, the tiebreaker was resorted where in Dramapur emerged winners.
Up coming Boys, Baida edged past Palvem 2-1. Johnny drew first blood for Palvem.
The second session saw Up coming Boys were in attacking mode and repeatedly raided the Palvem goal. Their persistent raids fetched them dividends when Poonam restored parity midway. Macklon netted the match winner at fag end.
Fatima Sports Club overcame Tolleaband 1-0. The all-important goal came in late in the second session through Piedade Rebello.
