The Asmita Khelo India Women’s Shootingball League 2025-26 was successfully held on November 29 at Shri Kamleshwar High School in Korgaon, Pernem. The event was organised by the Shootingball Association of Goa and witnessed enthusiastic participation from teams and supporters alike.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by chief guest Sandeep Barve, Principal of Shri Kamleshwar High School, along with special guests Diwakar Jadhav, Deputy Sarpanch of Korgaon, and Sudan Barve, former Principal of Kamleshwar Higher Secondary. Association office-bearers including President Kiran Sawant, Secretary Adv. Jagdish Toraskar, Vice President Jitendra Tilve, and Treasurer Manisha Parab were also present.
In the inaugural address, speakers highlighted the importance of sports in reducing stress, boosting confidence, and building teamwork. They emphasised that regular participation in physical activity promotes better sleep, agility, and overall good health, urging that sports should become an integral part of daily life.
A total of 13 teams competed in the league. Evergreen Challenger Tambose emerged as the champions, Halarna Panchkroshi secured second place, and Bhalkajan Warrior finished third.
Individual awards were also presented:
- Best Serviceman: Manisha Parab (Halarna Panchkroshi)
- Best Shooter: Ankita Polji (Evergreen Challenger Tambose)
- Best Defender: Louisa (Evergreen Challenger Tambose)
The prize distribution ceremony was attended by Association President Kiran Sawant, Secretary Adv. Jagdish Toraskar, Vice President Jitendra Tilve, and Treasurer Manisha Parab.
General Secretary Adv. Jagdish Toraskar concluded the event with a vote of thanks.
