St Xavier, Infant Jesus, Perpetual Succour march into quarters

MARGAO: Fatima Convent School, Margao got the better of St Anthony High School, Majorda 3-2 via tie-breaker to book their place in the semi-finals of the under-14 girls Salcete Taluka inter-school football tournament organized by Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, at Manora Primary School ground, Raia, on Thursday.
In other matches, St Xavier HS, Velim; Infant Jesus HS, Colva and Perpetual Succour Convent School, Navelim moved into the quarter-finals.
Fatima Convent and St Anthony failed to score in the normal time despite dominance by Fatima eves.
In the ensuing tie-breaker, Muriel Fernandes, Trizaine Fernandes and Keziah Baptista scored for Fatima Convent while only Cleynis Ferrao and Latina Souza found the mark for St Anthony.
St Xavier outplayed Our Lady of Succour HS, Nagoa 4-2. Leesha Fernandes, Requal Fernandes, Caris Fernandes and Filda Fernandes scored for the winners while Sakshi Singh and Divina Souza found the mark for the losers.
Infant Jesus got the better of Holy Rosary Convent School, Nuvem 5-4 via tie-breaker.
Both the teams settled for 1-1 draw at the end of regulation time.
Aliaza D’Silva opened the scoring for Infant Jesus while Snoroy Fernandes equalized for Holy Rosary Convent. 
In the tie breaker, Elicia Aguiar, Delsana D’Mello, Annapurna Rathod and Jessica Aguiar scored for Infant Jesus while Ferral Fernandes, Delia D’Costa and Cia Gonsalves scored for Holy Rosary Convent.
A superb brace from Lavina Peres helped Perpetual Succour Convent outplay St Aloysius HS, Benaulim 2-0.
