BENAULIM: FC Goa and FC Kerala played out a goalless draw in the 2nd Division AIFF League match played at Benaulim ground, on Saturday.
In the second minute, FC Goa through upcoming striker Liston Colaco U-22 should have netted but the latter’s move was thwarted by Shahzad K the defender of FC Kerala . Two minutes later, FC Goa’s Liston Colaco moved with the ball inside FC Kerala box in the 5th minute but was tackled by Kerala defender Subhankar Adhikari. Minutes later, FC Goa defender Savio Gama’s shot from close but was saved by Kerala keeper Ahamad Asfar.
FC Goa defender Meldon D’Silva connected to Liston was but his power-drive shot was blocked by Kerala defender Muhammad Shabin in the tenth minute.
The best chance of a free-kick taken by FC Goa striker Mohammad Yasir hit the Kerala defence wall in the 29th minute.
As the match progressed to the second half, Kerala striker Surjith V Ramesh shot wide in the 59th minute. Mohammad Yasir the striker of FC Goa connected a well measured ball to Krishna Pandit who missed the rival target by whiskers. In the injury time FC Goa missed two golden opportunities which fell to Savio Gama but the defence wall of Kerala blocked the move.
