Hot favourites Fomento Flamingos stormed into the finals of Pro-Badminton League organised by Panjim Badminton Club in association with SAG at indoor stadium, Campal, here on Thursday.
In the semi-finals, Flamingos featuring Goa’s top shuttler Floyd Araujo, proved too strong a hurdle for Fallary Warriors. The Warriors won their opening mixed doubles event but lost the next three games with ease to give a 3-1 victory to Flamingos.
In the other semi-finals between defending champions Models Eagles and strong contenders Caculo Chargers turned out to be a see-saw battle, a match where fortune fluctuated from one game to the other. Caculo Chargers prevailed in the end, knocking out the defending champions 3-2 in the process.
Results: Fomento Flamingos beat Fallary Warriors 3-1. Navneet Nasnodkar and Malati Dani lost to Sandip Kanji and Anura Prabhudesai 19-21, 14-21. Krishnaraj Gauns and Pranav Silimkhan beat Yash Angle and Sanath Kamat 21-16, 21-14. Floyd Araujo and Navneet Nasnodkar beat Chinmay and Vaman Fallary 21-16, 21-10. Floyd Araujo beat Sandip Kanji 21-11, 21-9.
Caculo Chargers beat Models Eagles 3-2. Pankaj Naik and Marina beat Darwin Barretto and Astha Gupta 21-17, 23-25, 21-19. Aniket Shenai and Saish Salelkar lost to Rahul Chandrashekar and Chinmay Kamat 14-21, 15-21. Pankaj Naik and Krushnan Naik beat Parag Chauhan and Darwin Barretto 21-16, 21-18. Aniket Shenai lost to Sunny Sawant 15-21, 22-24. Tanaji Sawant and P K Gupta beat Ajay Gupta and Anil Paiguinkar 21-9, 21-19.
