Fr Agnel HS Pilar champs

PANJIM: Fr Agnel High School, Pilar defeated Father Agnel Ashram High School, Verna 3-1 in the final of FC Goa’s U-12 grassroots football tournament at Duler Stadium, Mapusa, on Sunday.

PANJIM: Fr Agnel High School, Pilar defeated Father Agnel Ashram High School, Verna 3-1 in the final of FC Goa’s U-12 grassroots football tournament at Duler Stadium, Mapusa, on Sunday.
Fr Agnel HS, Pilar received their prize from chief guest and Goa’s first Arjuna Awardee, Brahmanand Sankhwalkar in the  presence of FC Goa CEO, Sukhvinder Singh; Technical Director, Katz Naidoo and others. 
Individual prizes were awarded to Golden glove by Mickey Dias from Our Lady of Poor HS, Tilamol; Golden ball by Davis Fernandes, St Joseph HS, Chandor; Golden boot by Francisco Fernandes, Fr Agnel Ashram HS and Man-of-the-Match by Elson Pereira, Fr Agnel HS, Pilar.     
Brahmanand said, “It gives me great pleasure to be here and I congratulate FC Goa for organizing this wonderful day-long tournament and its commitment to promote football at the grassroots level in Goa. I request the parents and coaches to encourage their children so that they grow up as professional footballers”. 
Sharing his views on this unique initiative to cultivate young and aspiring football talent in Goa, Sukhvinder Singh, CEO of FC Goa said, “We would like to reiterate FC Goa’s commitment to support and promote football at the grassroots level in Goa. This is only the beginning .”
Katz Naidoo added, “I’m very pleased with the talent that was on display. I think it’s safe to say that the coaches are doing a wonderful job of their wards and are allowing the obvious natural talent within the kids to shine through. We have a curriculum that allows the kids to express themselves and they did that today. There is still work to be done but we are undoubtedly on the right track.”
