PANJIM: Fr Agnel, Paroda defeated CAC Cansaulim 1-0, to move into the semi-final of 25th St Rock’s Super Soccer at St Rock’s ground at Calata, Majorda, on Wednesday.

Both teams began the match on a cautious note and came close to scoring on a couple of occasion in the first half but their strikers failed to score. In the 14th minute, Elvino Fernandes’ free-kick narrowly missed the mark.

On resumption, in the 40th minute Cansaulim’s left winger Jonet Baretto failed to beat the Paroda goal keeper in a one-on-one situation.

Kanchan Kiro passed two defenders and gave a well measured cross to Godfrey Rodrigues who made no mistake to give the Paroda the lead in 48th minute.

In the 55th minute Patrick Lima’s 22 yards shot was well saved by the Cansaulim keeper Clinton D’Silva.

Fr Agnel Paroda will meet host St Rock’s Youth Club in the first semi-final.
