MARGAO: Fr Agnel Multipurpose High School, Verna and St Aloysius High School, Benaulim recorded victories in the All-Goa Petlu’s Gold and Diamond Trophy inter-school football tournament organized by Petlu’s and Sons at Varca ground, on Saturday.
In the first match, Fr Agnel overcame Our Lady of Rosary High School, Fatorda 1-0. Both teams played attacking soccer as a result there were thrills at either end but both goalkeepers were rock solid.
Crossing over, the same trend continued with both the teams trying to find a winner.
With the match heading for tiebreaker, Mark Mascarenhas struck the decisive goal to troop out worthy winners.
In the second match, St Aloysius High School, Benaulim got the better of Holy Cross Institute High School, Cavelossim. St Aloysius dominated the game and enjoyed the better share of exchanges with their forwards swarming all over their rival’s territory. The high light of the day was a brilliant brace by striker Levy Pereira while Minister Costa scored the consolation goal for the losers.Swimming competition at Sankhali
