RAIA: Fr Agnelo Youth Sports Club, Paroda, overcame Parish Youth Nuvem 3-2 via the tie-breaker to book their place in the quarter-finals of the 3rd Late Uday Shirodkar Memorial inter-village football tournament, organised by Shiroda Youth Club and played at the Subhash Chandra Bose Sports Complex, Karai-Shiroda, on Wednesday.
The teams were locked at 1-1 at full time. Parish Youth Nuvem drew first blood in the 6th minute through Meisleio Barreto, while Fr Agnelo YSC Paroda restored parity in the second half via Ashwin Fernandes in the 62nd minute.
In the ensuing tie-breaker, Fr Agnelo YSC Paroda converted through Kanchan Keiro and Ravil Fernandes, while Luis Barreto scored for Parish Youth Nuvem.
Paroda goalkeeper Ravil Fernandes was awarded man-of-the-match trophy by Utkarsh Shirodkar, general secretary of the club.
