Friends XI were a superior side and their forwards troubled the rival defence with well orchestrated raids. Dawyne Ticlo unleashed a stiff shot which was blocked by Premyesver Adfodkar.
Thereafter, Friends XI put up sustained pressure on the rival defence with Dawyne and Edberg Sequeira combining well.
Alex D’Souza opened the scoring in the 15th minute for Friends XI when he received a pass from Ticlo.
Stung by the reversal, Sinquerim SC regrouped quickly and took the fight to the rival camp but Mandar Naik’s rasping volley was fisted away by the rival goalkeeper.
Crossing over, Friends XI continued to dictate terms with their forwards fired couple of sorties but either it went wide or shot straight into the safe hands of rival goalkeeper.
With time running out, Sinquerim Sports Club made a last ditch efforts and their bore the fruit when Kundan Narvekar scored the precious equalizer.
In the ensuing tie-breaker, Pundalik Navelkar, Davendra Khaunte, Francis Rodrigues and Dawyne Ticlo converted for Friends XI while Mandar, Kundan and Laxman converted for Sinquerim SC.
