PANJIM: Reigning champion Gauri Hadkonkar is currently leading with two points alongwith eight others at Women’s State chess championship cum State selection organized by Mormugao Taluka Chess Association (MTCA) at Chicalim, Friday.
Earlier, the tournament was inaugurated by chief guest R V Kumbhar, assistant Physical Education Officer of DSYA in the presence of Kishor Bandekar, secretary of Goa Chess Association, Vasant Naik secretary of MTCA, Adv Anita Thorat treasurer, P P Insulkar chief arbiter, Swapnil Hoble deputy arbiter, Ajay Thorat, Mukesh Adhia, Pundalik Nayak, Anil Patil, Achut Naik and Namrata Shetye.
