PANJIM: Geno Dragons crushed Desserts n More Avengers by 198 runs in the 5th Test to come back strongly and reduce the margin to trail by 2-3 in the Sarsangan Junior Cricket Test Series, played at Arlem Cricket ground.
Electing to bat first, Geno Dragons put on 282-7 with Atchut Naik Dalal top scoring with 83. Saish Hegde with 52 not out, Hrishi Wagle with 50 and Sahil Neurenkar with 22 aided in the total. Kush Pai Raikar and Rajat Dalal picked 2 wickets apiece while Shwetang Kamat Ghanekar picked a wicket.
In reply, Desserts n More Avengers were bowled out for 154 in their 1st innings with Kush Pai Raikar making 30 and was helped by Rajat Dalal’s 29. Avinash Sakhardande picked 2-29 while Om Keny, Shriyans Prabhu Alvencar, Shlok Borkar Atchut Naik Dalal and Pranav Shenvi picked a wicket each.
Leading by 128 runs, Geno Dragons put on 143-1 in the 2nd essay with Saish Hegde making 36, Vismay Falgaonkar 36 and Atchut Naik Dalal 39 to set a target of 272 to the DnM Avengers. Aahesh Prabhugaonkar picked a consolation wicket.
Desserts n More Avengers could only make 73-4 with Kush Pai Raikar 16 and Kunal Kuncolienkar 13 reaching double figures, giving the Geno Dragons a massive win by 198 runs. Atchut Naik Dalal with 2-14 was the standout bowler and was assisted by a wicket apiece from Shlok Borkar and Sahil Neurenkar.
Atchut Naik Dalal was the man-of-the-match, Saish Hegde was best batter and Kush Pai Raikar best bowler.
Earlier, Desserts n More Avengers took an unassailable 3-1 lead defeating Geno Dragons by a 8-wicket win.
Put into bat first, Geno Dragons put on 210-7 with contributions from Om Keny 27, Vismay Falgaonkar 50, Nityay Kuncolienkar 34, Sanat Prabhudesai 50 and Sahil Neurenkar 12. For the DnM Avengers, Ayan Borkar picked 2-13 and received support from Ved Mahambre 2-40, Kush Pai Raikar 1-23 and Pramay Prabhu 1-39.
In reply, Desserts n More Avengers put on 266-6 taking a crucial 56 run 1st innings lead over the Dragons, thanks to useful contributions from Pramay Prabhu 50 not out, Ved Mahambre 77 not out, Shardul Kenkre 35, Aditya Dalal 52 and Kaushal Churi 17. Shriyans Prabhu Alvenkar 1-4, Shlok Borkar 1-16, Anurag Borker 1-32 and Sahil Neurenkar 1-36 picked the wickets for the Geno Dragons.
Geno Dragons made 160-3 in the 2nd essay with Vismay Falgaonkar making 40 not out, Atchut Naik Dalal 36, Sanat Prabhudesai 17 and Nityay Kuncolienkar 44 not out. Needing 104 to win, Desserts n More Avengers reached the target with 8 wickets to spare making 105-2 with Ved Mahambre making 35, Rajat Dalal 18, Aditya Dalal 25 and Kush Pai Raikar 13 not out. Nityay Kuncolienkar picked a consolation wicket. Ved Mahambre was man-of-the-match, Vismay Falgaonkar was best batter and Pramay Prabhu was best bowler.
