Nine clubs fined Rs 25,000 for withdrawing from GFA knock-out tournament; Edmund suspended
PANJIM: The GFA would engage a foreign coach to rain the Goa football team for Lusofonia Games to be held in Goa in coming November.
Savio Messias and Schubert Furtado have been asked to identify the coach by the GFA executive committee.
Meanwhile, nine clubs have been fined Rs 25,000 each for withdrawing from GFA knock-out tournament. These include four I-League clubs and Cavelossim, Calangute, Laxmiprasad, Signals and Police. In addition to the fine, the teams will not be able to participate in inter-village tournaments until they finish the official events.
Youth player Edmund has been suspended for one year as he signed for two clubs, Sporting and Vasco in the under-18 tournaments. Sporting were scratched from the competition.
