Speaking on the occasion, GFDC Chairman Dr Rufino Monteiro praised the trainees who won the under-10 category of the Vodafone-GFDC Rising Stars Football Festival and also for reaching the semi-finals in the under- 13 category.
He further encouraged the kids to continue training to achieve more titles and rested the challenge to coaches Dietmar, Jason and Ansesao.
Dr Rufino also urged parents to continue sending and supporting their kids as it is scientifically proved that children who play perform better in studies too. Among the dignitaries present were GFDC Council Member Shantaram Naik, Fr Pio Almeida, Fr Anancio De’ Souza, Francis Mendonsa, Jeronimo Fernandes and Tony D’Mello.
