Goa beat Hyderabad; TN win

MARGAO, OCT 30 Tamil Nadu scored a fluent five-wicket win over Kerala in the South Zone Vinoo Mankad cricket tournament at Nehru Stadium, Fatorda on Saturday.

Tamil Nadu scored a fluent five-wicket win over Kerala in the South Zone Vinoo Mankad cricket tournament at Nehru Stadium, Fatorda on Saturday.
Batting first, Kerala were bundled out for 176 in 49.2 overs. Kerala’s innings revolved around skipper SA Bhavani as he top-scored with 58 runs. K Shashindra (33) and DN Borwankar (23) added some respect to the score.
For TN A.Parajith was the most successful bowler scalping 6 for 22 while Bharat K, SS Mani and Ashwin captured one wicket each.
In reply, TN batsmen made light of the varied Kerala attack. B Indrajit decorated his inning with an unbeaten 48. Bharat K (26), Anirudha Kasturi (22) and Aparajith RN (20) and V Ganga Raju (24) were the other contributors.
ZA Sayeed was the pick of the Kerala bowlers with figures of 3 for 25.
Chasing Kerala’s score, TN had no difficulty in achieving the target scoring 178 for 5 in 42.8 overs.
Brief scores: Kerala 176 all-out in 49.2 overs. SA Bhavani (58), K Shashindra (33), D.N Borwankar (23), A.Parajith (6 for 22), Bharat k, S.S Mani and Ashwin one wicket each lost to TN by five wickets. TN 178 for 5 in 42.3 overs. Bharat K (26), V. Ganga Raju (24), Anirudha Kasturi (22), G Indrajot not out 48, ZA Sayeed 3 for 25.
Goa and Andra Pradesh defeated Hyderabad and Kerala by 82 runs and 110 runs with bonus points respectively at Academy ground Povorim and BITS Pilani ground Vasco.
      At the end of the fourth round, Tamil Nadu are leading the table with 18 points, followed by Karnataka 15, Goa 9, AP 8, Kerala 2 and Hyderabad minus four points.
Goa: 264 for 7 in 50 overs (Ganeshraj Narvekar 47, Vikas Shetty 44, Sayyad 37, Amog Desai 33, Srinivas Phadte 31. Akash Bhandari 3 for 48, Vishajit Patnaik 2 for 60.
Hyderabad: 182 for 7 in 50 overs (V Vihari 69, B Sandeep 41, Malik Arjun 25. Reagan Pinto 2 for 44).
 Andhra Pradesh: 277 for 6 in 50 overs (S M Bharat 81 11×4), Pranit Kumar 49, S Bassa 36. V Manoharan 2 for 57).
Kerala: 167 all out in 38.1 overs (Rahul 74  9×4), 1×6, Jackson 27, A Mohan 13. S H Srinivas 4 for 31, Y Jagdish Kumar 3 for 29 , S M Bassa 2 for 24).
